For the ninth time, the grounds of Trenčín Airport will be transformed into an open-air gallery of contemporary art. Under the curatorial direction of the vissual artist Ilona Németh, Pohoda will once again showcase works responding to social issues, environmental challenges, and human struggles — created by both Slovak and international artists. An incredible 82 artists and art collectives entered the 9th edition of the Visual Art Contest this year. From all the submitted works, our expert jury selected two pieces that will become part of the Visual Stage at Pohoda 2025. On Tuesday, we built half of the new Arena Slovenska sporiteľna and raise the twenty-meter dome of the Visual Stage. Along with dozens of other easier and harder jobs, we were very happy to do a small, but for us a heartfelt task that has become a tradition for us. Every year our colleague Rasto with his crew hangs a huge longitudinal banner on the airport tower, which used to mark the main stage the year before. And in that moment, the airport becomes Pohoda. Today we brought the POHODA flower letters, welcomed precious visitors, set up concrete bottoms for solar lamps, brought in toilets, painted fences for Family Camp, had numerous video calls, learned how to read a tech map, and packed over five hundred gifts. The Smoke-Free Zone is bringing the party once again, this time with local names including Fallgrapp (DJ set), Erik Šulc, Bad Mojo & Michael Priest, DJ LIIA, and BULP (DJ set). Kicking off the programme on both Thursday and Saturday will be the Slovak-Ukrainian DJ Miklei. You can also look forward to a live recording of the Lužifčák podcast, stand-up comedy, and a music performance by Michael Szatmary. The interviews and Meet&Greet will feature the prominent Czech photographer Tomáš Třeštík and the multi-talented Slovak artist ZEA, who will also perform an acoustic concert.
