The concert of Bastille on May 28th in Bratislava Refinery Gallery will be opened by the post-indie band Luvver from Nitra that will replace the originally announced singer-songwriter ONR. Coming from a rock-ish background but heavily influenced by contemporary poppy sounds of The Neighbourhood, The 1975, Lorde or The Weeknd. They were nominated in the Newcomer of the Year category and won the Advance Investments Foundation award (grant for music production) at recent Radio_Head Awards 2018. → read more

Pohoda 2019 will also host the Bratislava reggae favourites Medial Banana. They already performed at Pohoda in 2015 and 2018, and the recording of their first concert is the second most viewed video we've ever added to our YouTube channel. Reggaeville.com, the most respected reggae website, ranked their collaboration album Inna Jamdown shot in Jamaica in the selection of the best albums of 2016. Their success lies on the basic pillars of the band, which, according to their own words, are tolerance, chill, love for nature, sun and comfort. Our most popular reggae band was formed ten years ago and we’re happy they’ll come to celebrate with us at the Trenčín Airport, too. → read more

Our festival team will use also “second-hand” computers this year. We will borrow used laptops from AfB, an IT non-profit organisation. In their new Trnava “workshop”, they prolong the life of computers that large companies decommission and replace with new ones, and help save the environment. Pohoda will also feature an experimental rap by the Czech band P/\ST, who will come to join us from the Startér chart in cooperation with Radio Wave. The band released their debut /Expedice do vnitrobloku/ just last Friday. When they performed in the Prague café V lese at the Starter Showcase at the beginning of May, Jonáš Zbořil wrote about them: “The rapper duo P/\ST delivered by far the best show on stage yesterday. Dan and Ivo are friends from the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre at the Theatre Faculty in Prague. P/\ST have just played their third concert, but they’re gaining on their brothers quite nicely. The music is a combination Dan Kranich's machine-gun flow and the dark beats that sometimes move P/\ST almost somewhere to grime. ” → read more

Pohoda is nearly upon us and Budiš will be there again, too. Thanks to Budiš, the attenders will get a chance to experience the festival from a new bird's-eye perspective. That will be offered by the highest building onsite, a 32-meter high ferris wheel. You can enjoy the views from the wheel with a cold, non-alcoholic drink, for example. In addition to the unique views, you can relax and chill out in Budiš zone. The stage itself will deliver quite a party again. The Slovak Chamber Orchestra of Bohdan Warchal led by Ewald Danel opened Pohoda 2018 with a concert dedicated to Ján and Martina. The set of the orchestra in Gregorovce will be similar: they will play the highlights of Baroque, Romantic, and Contemporary Slovak music, such as Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Musica Slovaca by Ilja Zeljenka, and Dvořák's Biblical Songs. During the performance, the choirs from all over Slovakia, including the local choir Gregos, will join the orchestra.    → read more

The concert for Ján and Martina will also feature a performance by the Czech-Slovak legend Richard Müller. He's an artist with an impressive career who's still got a lot to offer even after more than 30 years on the scene. He writes new songs, plays successful concerts and starts unusual projects. Richard is, just like most people, horrified by the story of Ján and Martina. He wants to support their families this way and to contribute to making sure they're not forgotten. He'll sing the greatest hits of his impressive career, such as "Po schodoch",  "Cigaretka na dva ťahy", "Milovanie v daždi" and many more. → read more
