Oliver Tree will bring an explosion of pop, alternative music, and absurd humour to Pohoda 2026

One of the most unpredictable and visually striking artists in contemporary pop culture is heading to Pohoda 2026. California’s Oliver Tree will perform at Trenčín Airport with his unique multimedia show that straddles the line between pop, alternative music, performance art, and the grotesque.

20. January 2026

A native of Santa Cruz, California, Oliver Tree is a singer, producer, songwriter, director, and performance artist all in one. For over a decade, he has been building his world through various projects and identities, constantly pushing the boundaries of what it means to be a pop artist in the internet age. His work blends catchy melodies with alternative sounds and a bold visual aesthetic, where art consciously meets entertainment.

His concerts are known for being wild, theatrical, and often absurd performances, where music is fused with humour, irony, and physical performance. Oliver Tree has the ability to make his audience laugh, shock, and even move them – all within a matter of minutes. Each performance is a meticulously directed show, more akin to surrealist theatre than a traditional concert.

"Pure idiotic hedonism, like the musical equivalent of Jackass or Eric Andre – and yet, top-tier pop that isn't always easy to get into at first, mixing hip-hop, rock, and electronics. Oliver Tree is one of those artists who forces their way into your life, and you either embrace them openly or shake your head and distance yourself as much as possible. Personally, I recommend the former, because... well, why not?" says Majo Tesák from the Pohoda team about this American performer.

Musically, Oliver Tree is incredibly versatile. His work spans pop, alternative rock, hip-hop, and electronic music, and he deliberately refuses to fit into one specific genre box. Critics often describe him as the "polymath of the internet generation" – Rolling Stone magazine praised his ability to blend pop catchiness with conceptual art, while NME applauded his commitment to “making pop something unsettling, yet appealing to the masses.”

He has also garnered a strong global fanbase. His songs are among the most-streamed alternative-pop hits of recent years – his biggest song, “Miss You”  has over three-quarters of a billion plays on Spotify, making it a global streaming phenomenon. Oliver Tree regularly appears in rankings of the most influential online artists and has received several nominations in both music and digital categories. He’s also a Guinness World Record holder, and true to his eccentric style, it’s in a bizarre category – in 2020, he built the world’s largest scooter.

Oliver Tree is an artist whose next move is impossible to predict. It’s this uncertainty, freedom, and refusal to conform to expectations that make him the ideal concert performer. At Pohoda 2026, he will bring a world without boundaries between genres, between laughter and discomfort, or between art and entertainment.
