Pohoda 2026 welcomes an extraordinary musical family from West Point, Mississippi, who are currently attracting attention around the world. Annie & The Caldwells play unique, energetic disco soul music that blends family ties, gospel roots, and pulsating grooves. The band is led by singer Annie Caldwell and her longtime life and musical partner, guitarist Willie Joe Caldwell, Sr., to whom she has been married for fifty years. They are joined on stage by their children and goddaughter – Deborah Caldwell Moore, Anjessica Caldwell, Toni Rivers, bassist Willie Jr. and drummer Abel Aquirius.
After the release of their album Can’t Lose My (Soul) in the spring of 2025, which The Guardian awarded five stars and called a “masterpiece,” they became one of the most talked-about discoveries of the year. Their concerts, full of energy that can captivate the entire audience, are accompanied by enthusiastic reactions from critics and audiences alike. After one of their performances, British MOJO wrote: "The most exciting, most dynamic family of faith imaginable: their rhythm section (dad and two sons) would give the Family Stone a run for its money; the front line (mum and daughters) have unquenchable sass and spirituality, and the crowd doesn’t need persuading to crash the stage and be saved by songs." They confirmed this international acclaim during a television appearance on the well-known British music program Later… with Jools Holland.
Annie & The Caldwells are more than just a band – they are a family community that translates their real-life experiences into transcendent music. This music is based on family stories, life experiences, spiritual quests, and the strong femininity that characterizes the Caldwells. The songs often turn into personal testimonies and vibrate with real emotions on stage.
At Pohoda 2026, they will bring music that is a celebration of life, faith, femininity, and unshakeable family bonds. Family energy, rich vocals, gospel spirit, and dance ferocity make the performance an experience that brings the audience to sing and dance together on stage.
