SOFT PLAY

SOFT PLAY  GB

Their debut album, "Are You Satisfied?" was nominated for the 2015 Mercury Prize. According to Clash magazine, the tracks from their latest album “Heavy Jelly” are “wilder, faster, heavier, more frenetic, and downright hilarious than anything they've done together before.” The fantastic British punk rock duo SOFT PLAY will perform at Pohoda 2026.

Isaac Holman (vocals, drums) and Laurie Vincent (guitar, bass) aka SOFT PLAY (formerly Slaves) has made quite an impact in just a few years. Their debut album, "Are You Satisfied?" was nominated for the 2015 Mercury Prize as well as the BBC Sound of 2015.The second album was co-produced by Mike D from the Beastie Boys, who also made a guest appearance on one of the tracks, Consume Or Be Consumed. They produced slowthai's song "Missing" and you can also hear them on Gorillaz's "Momentary Bliss" and even on Chase and Status' "Control".

Their most recent album, Heavy Jelly (July 2024) is the gleeful sound of a band audibly having the best time they’ve had in years. Named after a Jiu-Jitsu instructor told Laurie to act like ‘heavy jelly’ by means of explaining how much resistance to give in a demonstration, the turn of phrase also mirrors the duo’s own worldview, “life is heavy, but it’s also funny,” summarises Isaac.

All four albums secured spots in the TOP 10 of the UK album chart. No wonder, their catchy riffs and energetic punk are fantastic. Along the way, they’ve won the hearts of The Streets’ Mike Skinner, the Beastie Boys Mike D, won multiple NME Awards, had Skepta join them on stage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, and toured with The Prodigy, Slipknot, Kasabian, Kneecap, Jamie T, Foo Fighters, and Wolf Alice. If you're in the mood for a genuine punk dance party, make sure not to miss SOFT PLAY at Pohoda 2026.
