IDLES

IDLES  GB

THURSDAY, JULY 9, 2026

The British band IDLES will return to Pohoda after nine years. During this time, the guitar band from Bristol has released four more amazing albums and will bring a wild dose of post-punk and untamed energy to Trenčín Airport – the kind that defines their live concerts.

IDLES performed at Trenčín Airport in 2017 and now they’re coming back as a big, award-winning, fan-favourite “guitar band,” livelier than ever. "I first saw IDLES in a small London club. I immediately knew they were exceptional and that I wanted them at Pohoda – a year later, they played at the festival as a rising band. In no time, they shot to fame, becoming one of the most sought-after acts, and I’m happy to have them return as a powerful band. They deserve it. And we can look forward to a show full of energy and top-notch contemporary British punk,” says Pohoda’s director, Michal Kaščák.

IDLES navigate the realms of punk and its subgenres – post-punk, art-punk, with a sharp guitar-driven punch and biting riffs. They manage to combine a raw sound with a strong message and a humorous (but not shallow) delivery. Their music is fundamentally guitar-driven – bass, two electric guitars, and drums form the backbone, alongside vocals, effects, and lyrics with a typically strong “punk” message about unity, identity, toxic masculinity, societal tension, and class division.

IDLES are known for their unrestrained concerts. "Live performances are at the heart of what we do," says IDLES frontman Joe Talbot. And numerous awards in the “Best Live Act/Performer” category confirm that. If you love energy, raw guitars, and lyrics with punk DNA, the IDLES concert at Pohoda's 30th edition is something you definitely shouldn’t miss.
