The band Drť to release their debut album Puntičkár

The Slovak-Hungarian band Drť released their debut album Puntičkár on May 15th with the Pohoda festival record label. It is dedicated to the victims of persecution, repression, and murders of the communist regime. The author of the project is the composer and saxophonist Miroslav Tóth, also known for his collaboration with the Kronos Quartet. The band also includes other well-known musicians—composer Lucia Chuťková, Marek Buranovský (Vojdi), Márton Csernovszky (The Best Bad Trip), Áron Porteleki (Thisnis, Dorota), and Michal Kaščák (Bez ladu a skladu). The songs are muzicalization of the statements of the former head of the State Security Service, Alojz Lorenc, and the stylization was taken care of by Marek Kundlák. → read more

The latest re-confirmed names for Pohoda 2021 are Thom Yorke Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes, Glass Animals, Jenny Hval and Liraz. During Pohoda Day_FM, festival representatives also revealed the winner of the 6th edition of Pohoda Visual Art Contest, Andrej Kolenčík, and info regarding Pohoda in the Air festival. Pohoda Day_FM already this Friday, May 15

Ultrazvuk, Čavalenky, Luvver, Isama Zing, Blanch, and Fvck Kvlt will perform this Friday, May 15, as part of Pohoda Day_FM. In addition to the concerts, the festival representatives will announce more reconfirmed names of the rescheduled 24th edition of Pohoda and the winners of the Pohoda Visual Art Contest. They will also reveal the first information about the Pohoda in the Air festival. The Slovak-Hungarian band Drť will present their debut album and release their first music video; and the Báseň 2020 (Poem 2020) contest will be announced. Director Lucia Kašová will talk about the documentary Orchestra from the Land of Silence (Orchester z krajiny ticha) of the Pohoda production about the first Afghan women's orchestra Zohra. The festival representatives will present a new ecological initiative of the greenest European festivals, the Green European Experience. In the afternoon, the current situation will be discussed by epidemiologists, and in the early evening on the Baláž & Hubinák show, people from behind the scenes of culture will discuss the topic of Culture in the (bad) times of the coronavirus. → read more

Pohoda Festival is a part of the Green Europe Experience project.

Together with three other festivals, Pohoda Festival is a part of the Green Europe Experience (GEX) project. Our festivals are known for supporting creativity. What we also need to take into account when implementing our ideas is the limited availability of resources our planet has to offer. We will be working on this project for three years. During this time, we will create, test and assess new environmental approaches with focus on sustainable festival food and scenography.  → read more

A quick reminder that the deadline for Pohoda Visual Art Contest is approaching – there is one week left for submitting your proposals. The new challenge concerns the online Pohoda in the Air festival, so in addition to the works for the airport area, we are also opening a special category for digital works. Proposals will be accepted until midnight next Wednesday, May 13, and the names of the winners will be announced on May 15 during Pohoda Deň_FM. A symbolic online concert for Martina and Ján from Gregorovce

We are preparing a symbolic edition of concert for Martina and Ján this Sunday, May 3, 2020. You will be able to watch it through live stream on the Facebook profile of Pohoda, Denník N, N-kultúra, Aktuality.sk, NOIZZ.sk, Hudba.sk, as well as on the profile of Konvergencie. Dalibor Kocian – Stroon and Jozef Lupták will play on the hill above the playground in Gregorovce from 6 pm. The works "Animal Physiopsychology" for vibraphone by Stroon, "Threnos" by John Travener, "Jewish Prayer" by Ernest Bloch and “Song without Words” by Jozef Lupták will be performed. The event will also include the installation "We are in it together", which will be realized by Michal Kačmár. Despite all the restrictions, we want to remember two young people whose fate has changed our country. The event will be presented by Valér Ondrej and Ján and Martina's parents will also speak during the concert. → read more

Paupière, the synthpop trio from Canadian Montreal will perform at Pohoda 2021. They enchanted our graphic artist and curator Tereza in Seoul, South Korea at the Zandari Festival. She said the following about the band: "Paupière was a pleasant surprise for me in a tiny club somewhere on one of Seoul's busy streets. The band was shy at first, their trembling and slight nervousness spread through the club. But it didn't take long and they absolutely enchanted us all with their sensuality... " → read more
