They were split by the revolution, and 45 years later, they were reunited by the love for North African music, Chaâbi. Band members and old friends, Jews and Muslims, rejoice once again on one stage. Musicians that lived the era now hand over the heritage of Chaâbi music to the generation of the age of their grandchildren. Together they perform as El Gusto, which translated means “the good mood”. Pohoda will host also the authors of the best album and song in Poland in 2016. The band Mitch & Mitch uses guitars, drums, percussions, vibraphone, and brass instruments to offer the first class new jazz and parody of everything all in one. Our Michal went to see then upon the recommendation of a Polish friend: “I saw Mitch & Mitch at the OFF festival in Poland. They were performing after the perfect concert of PJ Harvey, and I just could not understand why anyone would set a band after such a powerful artist – but only until they started playing. Even if at the beginning of their concert I was a little sceptically standing rather withdrawn from the crowd, I ended up right below the stage at the barriers. It is rare to see so much of insight in the music, so much human and artistic interplay. Then you add a really fun way to communicate with the audience, a well working parody of “make some noise” phrases, and great music.  → read more

Today in our shop, are launching the sale of accommodation with the highest comfort. Also this year you can choose from wooden huts Trenčín, 5-person tents in the PSS Fox Village and the 5-person equivalent of the latter in the Family Park Camp. Pohoda 2018 will also offer new tents Tent Inn Black and Fresh that maintain pleasant thermal conditions even on hot days. They will be available in the 2-person version in the tent camp and in the 3-person version in the Family Park Camp. A novelty is the reservation of camping spots behind the Family Park for €9.90, as a result of increased interest and limited space in this part of the festival grounds. A new phenomenon on the scene of heavy music genres, band Zeal & Ardor, fuses musical motifs of Afro-American slaves and Nordic black metal elements. The avant-garde metal music project is led by a composer and singer Manuel Gagneux. With his band featuring excellent musicians, he’s been praised by the likes of Independent or Noisey. The band mesmerized Pohoda crew at Reeperbahn and now you have a chance to see them at the 22nd edition of our festival.   → read more

Pohoda is going to the gala ceremony organized by the most prestigious festival awards with the record seven nominations leaving behind other popular events such as Roskilde (5), Lowlands (4), Sziget (3) or Exit (3). Thanks to the votes from its visitors, Pohoda is, again, shortlisted in Top 10 in the category of Best Medium-Sized Festival in the Old Continent. The eight-member band coming from the capital of the United States have 2 Grammy nominations, 7 million followers on social networks and more than 300 million views on YouTube under their belt. A fitting ending to the French “surfing” band La Femme’s press kit says: “Catch the wave and listen!” Their music is a brief excursion to the genres of the second half of the 20th century. Their debut Psycho Tropical Berlin made it to the top of digital charts in France and was nominated in the category of Best New Artist in the 2014 French Music Awards. Brand Yves Saint Laurent used band’s song “Oh Baby Doll” in their campaign.
