Sphéra at Pohoda 2022

Sphéra at Pohoda 2022

The concept of the visual stage of Pohoda will be exceptional in 2022. Years long-term collaboration with Ilona Németh and Dano Dida will be concentrated in a single work this year—Sphéra by Juraj Gábor. The artwork has become a major event on our art scene, winning many awards and especially respect from the art community. It will move from the New Synagogue in Žilina to the exterior for the festival and will be at the airport for the longest time out of all the constructions. We are starting on 6 June with a transfer to Trenčín and subsequent assembly. We recommend reading the word of the originator, Juraj Gábor, on our website or in the comment under the Post. → read more

Quatro Emocione at Pohoda 2022

Quatro Emocione at Pohoda 2022

Quatro Emocione aroused positive emotions a few days ago at Pohoda deň_FM and in eight weeks, they will bring to dance also the visitors of Pohoda 2022. The band plays vapor/synth or, more specifically, post-virtual secondwave lo-fi hyperpop and consists of six excellent musicians led by singer Kristína Smetanová. Well Kristína graduated in piano, but it is her to make singing-like melodies using the Vocaloid vkb-100 keyboard. The project includes bassist Miloš Bulík, also active in formations Space Cats, La3no Cubano, Erik Šulc & Tribal Colors, Isobutane and others. A year ago, he released as Quatro Emocione the EP Cheetahs In Danger, which discusses interpersonal relationships, parties and, last but not least, cheetahs as an endangered species. Their new pieces are mostly a joint work of the whole band and you will hear several of them also at the Trenčín airport. → read more

Zlokot comeback at Pohoda 2022

After seven years, the band Zlokot is returning on stage and we are honoured that they will play their first concert at Pohoda 2022. The mysterious entity once again called upon four musicians, who again found their way to each other. This time, the formation will be gender-balanced, consisting of Pavol “Lyrik” Remiáš (rap), Erik “Losos” Horák (bass guitar, guitar), Stanka Apfelová (guitar, bass guitar, vocals), and Ema Kakarová (drums). The concert playlist will be composed of the best and the most unrestrained that Zlokot have in their repertoire. FVLCRVM AV show at Pohoda 2022

FVLCRVM AV show at Pohoda 2022

Pohoda will also provide big platform for the local music scene. A sign of respect for it will be demonstrated by the inclusion of an audio-visual version of Pišta Kráľovič's project – FVLCRVM – at the main stage at the end of the Saturday night. The visuals carry dystopian motives with futuristic elements of abstract user interfaces perfectly in sync with the songs. The artist is also the author of the projections. The custom made lights are programmed on the site so every show will be unique. Created by the talented light designer Jozef Čabo who will accompany FVLCRVM on the whole tour. → read more

Go_A at Pohoda 2022

Go_A at Pohoda 2022

Another confirmed name from our eastern neighbours is the electro-folk phenomenon GO_A. One of the most popular Ukrainian bands today combines authentic Ukrainian vocals, modern electronic dance beats, African percussion, and guitar drive. Their name could be loosely translated as “Back to the roots”, which is mainly due to the specific white voice singing of the singer Kateryna. Formed in 2012, they won the award for the best Ukrainian song of the year in 2015 for the song "Vesnianka". A year later, they released their debut Іди на звук (Follow the Tune). We were last captivated by them in the recent TV marathon Music Saves Ukraine, and by the way, we also support this initiative with our activities at Pohoda. During the war, they released a song called Kalyna (refers to the bush that is the national symbol of Ukraine), and all the money earned by streaming this song goes to support Ukraine. You will be able to see their concert thanks to our participation ESNS exchange program.   → read more
