MonoPlastic will bring a new generation of electronic art-rock to Pohoda 2026
Slovak duo MonoPlastic will perform at Pohoda 2026, bringing one of the most exciting new voices of the local alternative scene to Trenčín Airport. Balancing somewhere between electro-rock, post-punk and club electronics, the band delivers intense live shows full of heavy synths, crushing basslines, robotic vocals and rave energy.
30. May 2026
MonoPlastic combine post-punk guitars, drum machines and electronic production into a sound they describe as “plutonium electro-rock”. Their performances are more than concerts — visuals, theatrical staging and strong performance elements turn their live sets into futuristic club rituals. As the duo themselves put it: MonoPlastic is “a nostalgic feeling for something you have never experienced.”
The band has gradually built its own distinctive universe where the rawness of post-punk meets dancefloor electronics and the dark aesthetics of underground clubs. And if you’ve never heard a punk version of Meky Žbirka’s legendary song Do člna, that alone is a good reason not to miss their set.
MonoPlastic earned their spot at Pohoda through the Garáž project, created jointly by Pohoda Festival and European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026. The open call focused on supporting emerging Slovak artists and creating space for discovering bold new projects. MonoPlastic stood out thanks to their originality, explosive live energy and strong visual identity.
“Garáž received applications from 125 genre-diverse projects, once again proving how much exciting new music is being created in Slovakia and how important it is to create space for it. We’re happy that this collaboration helps some of these artists reach new audiences and open up new opportunities,” says Pavol Čižmár from Trenčín 2026 – European Capital of Culture.
MonoPlastic add another bold new discovery to the programme of Pohoda’s 30th edition — a concert that promises to be equally danceable, noisy and hypnotic.
Pohoda 2026 will feature performances by The Cure, Gorillaz, The Prodigy, Lykke Li, Denzel Curry, IDLES, Oliver Tree, Apashe & Brass Orchestra, Action Bronson, Emilíana Torrini, Baxter Dury, and many more.
The festival is already sold out; only the last thousand 4-day passes are still available.
One-day tickets for THE CURE Extra Day are still available.
Pohoda Festival will take place on July 8 & July 9–11, 2026, at Trenčín Airport.
