Blue Mental will bring their atmospheric sludge sound to Pohoda
The Slovak project Blue Mental will also perform at the Pohoda Festival, taking the stage at Garáž—a space dedicated to new names on the local scene.
08. April 2026
Blue Mental originally began as a multi-genre solo project by Kristie Kardio, which gradually evolved into a full-fledged band. It was joined by prominent musicians from the Slovak alternative scene—Patrik Cingeľ from the project Pancage, tOmO known from the bands XCES and Drť, and guitarist Daron from the band The Ills. Together, they formed a lineup that brought new dynamics and a broader sonic dimension to the project.
Blue Mental’s current work is shifting toward sludge metal—a slow, dense, and atmospheric sound with a distinct emotional charge. The band works with heavy walls of guitar, minimalist rhythms, and intense live energy that builds on the authenticity and physical power of live performance. The result is a dark yet hypnotic sonic world.
The Garáž Stage has been an integral part of Pohoda for years—a place where we give space to young and emerging names in Slovak music. This year’s program for this stage is curated by Denis Bango and Ľubo Šoška, and Blue Mental is Ľubo Šoška’s first selection.
Over three days (Thursday to Saturday), Pohoda 2026 will feature performances by Gorillaz, The Prodigy, Lykke Li, Denzel Curry, IDLES, Oliver Tree, Apashe & Brass Orchestra, Action Bronson, Emilíana Torrini, Baxter Dury, and many more.
For the first time in Pohoda’s history, there will also be a standalone Extra Day, featuring The Cure, The Twilight Sad, Just Mustard, and Denis Bango. For Wednesday – The Cure Extra Day, it is possible to purchase a single-day ticket or combine the experience with the full festival by buying a 4-day pass, which is currently the most cost-effective way to enjoy Pohoda in its entirety. Pohoda Festival will take place on July 8 & July 9–11, 2026, at Trenčín Airport.
