Thursday night highlight will be Ylvis with their spectacular The Expensive Jacket Tour set. Brothers Ylvisåker made a name for themselves when their song “The Fox”, whose purpose was to promote the third series of their show I kveld med Ylvis (Tonight with Ylvis), went viral in 2013, exponentially spreading across the internet with over 640 million views as of today. “Does Humor Belong in Music?” is a question Frank Zappa asks on his legendary album from 1984. Currently, brothers Ylvisåker and their comedy-music project Ylvis is the best answer out there. Pohoda is the first European venue outside of Scandinavia, where these nice, talented creative siblings will play their show. In terms of building up festival’s reputation on the international scene, Pohoda being shortlisted in four European Festival Awards categories is the most significant success in its history. Music professionals nominated Pohoda in three categories: Best Festival Line-up and Best Promoter, and Michal Kaščák made it to the shortlist in the category of Award for Excellence & Passion together with the likes of Damon Albarn (Gorillaz, Blur), Ruud Berends (director at Eurosonic) or Fruzsina Szép (director at Lollapalooza Berlin). Their debut An Awesome Wave released in 2012 won the prestigious Mercury Prize. Their second album, This Is All Yours (2014), went straight to the UK charts number one. So, it is not surprising that in 2015 they played at Glastonbury on the main Pyramid Stage and also headlined festivals such as Primavera, Latitude, Sziget, Open'er, and Lollapalooza. Allstar Refjúdží Band, Vrbovskí víťazi, and Swingless Jazz Ensemble and their guests (Lasky, Vec, and Michal Kaščák) will play for the visitors of the third year of Doma dobre. On Sunday, 11 December, the low threshold dormitory of St. Vincent de Paul will hold also debates on topics related to homelessness, and there will be a birthday cake as well, as the hostel is celebrating its 10 years of existence. Besides the great experience, each visitor will receive a small souvenir. Admission to the concert is free, and your voluntary contribution will be used to support and help the homeless. → read more
