Another amazing band from Czechia confirmed for this year’s Pohoda is Ghost of you. This export article of the Czech music scene has more than 200 gigs under their belt, including shows played at the biggest Czech festivals, a series of concerts in London or a gig at Sziget festival as winners of “Jednou ranou na Sziget” competition. This young indie pop band is influenced by psychedelia, electronic music and math rock. Pohoda 2017 will also see a Czech urban-folk duo Kieslowski. Kieslowski is guitarist and vocalist David Pomahač (a.k.a. DKP) and vocalist and keyboardist Maria Kieslowski. They played festivals such as Waves Vienna; Urkulte in Sweden and Frazy in Poland. “Kieslowski know how to write a powerful life story or just put you in a certain mood; they provide melodies that will get under your skin and play them in a way you’ll have a spine-shivering experience.” The band is coming to our festival to prove Antonín Kocábek’s (from www.tyden.cz) superlatives. → read more

The greatest vocalists and musicians of West Africa have joined voices to support gender equality. Band Les Amazones d’Afrique is a phenomenon on the world music scene that cooperated with the likes of Nneka or Mariam Doumbia (Amadou et Mariam). Their concert at last year’s Womad in London was praised by The Guardian or The Financial Times alike. The band will offer a mix of rock, blues, reggae, pop, African rhythms, exuberant harmonies and musical colorfulness at Pohoda 2017. → read more

Catchy Colombian melodies and rhythms will be played also at Pohoda 2017. They will be delivered by band La Mambanegra, which was, ranked by Billboard one of the five Colombian bands that you should know. As Guardian put it, the first class musicians deliver their energetic mixture of salsa, Caribbean influences, funk, hip-hop, R&B, and jazz in a riveting and entertaining way. Billboard also wrote that La Mambanegra achieved the ideal balance between virtuosity and the dance aspect of their music, and they will show that to Pohoda visitors this summer. → read more

Pohoda 2017 will also have the German-American duo White Wine, which includes Joe Haege, the author of film music and member of bands Tu Fawning and 31Knots. He, at his travels on tours, would spend some of his free time composing synth-punk tunes and beats on his laptop. He was touring also with bands Dodos and Menomena, and it was the sound engineer in of the latter one Fritz Brückner to start working with Haege on his “musical notes from the road”. According to the Berlin website Pop-Kultur, Whote Wine is the type of budding band that you hesitate to book because they might shine brighter than big names. → read more
