Status report: 8 days to Pohoda

The first truck with construction parts for the biggest open-air stages has arrived today. We've placed concrete rings on festival site where we will post photos and posters from previous Pohoda editions later next week. Large-capacity containers and floor for kids' corner have been delivered. Besides pipes, we have enough water in water containers as well. Wooden hut construction works have been completed and the poles of the biggest dance tents are towering over the site. Rasťo has fixed the last year's header from main stage on the airport tower and, starting today, the hard-core team has a new regular member – Maszat.  → read more

Hraj noha a hrá Banda

Banda is an amazing Slovak world music band performing ethnic music with modern arrangements. After their show, the former WOMEX Festival Director, Gerald Seligman, wrote: “Banda are a group of excellent musicians who’ve figured out how to add contemporary elements to age-old tradition without losing the excitement of the former and the integrity of the latter.” You can move your feet to Banda’s music on Friday, 5 PM, at Nay House of Dance, where they will be playing together with a women’s vocal band Trnki. → read more

Stratasoul: RBMA stage video

Stratasoul is a DJ and electronic producer present on the Slovakian club scene for more than 15 years. In 2003, he attended the World Red Bull Music Academy and last year he appeared again at Bratislava RBMA Bass Camp. He produced the album Slovenčina pre samoukov for the paper Bene and introduced himself all shiny and bright with his Luvly Isles EP. This release came out under the Slovak Ajlavmjuzik label, and soon earned the two genre nominations at Radio Head Awards. → read more

Orange to provide more energy for phones

In order to be able to share festival experiences, a charged phone is a must. That's not going to be a problem at Pohoda since Orange will again provide festival-goers with hundreds of sockets for smartphone or tablet charging throughout the festival weekend and, at the same time, the company has increased the capacity at assisted charger spots. These will be available nonstop not only at Orange zone, but also near both campsite areas. Portable chargers will be available for you to use again this year. → read more
