Our Friend René brings a tribute to the legendary duo Lasica & Satinský to Pohoda
Divadlo Povalač will present its production Our Friend René at Pohoda 2026. The cult text by the iconic author duo Milan Lasica and Július Satinský belongs among the unmistakable highlights of Slovak humour – gently ironic, precise and still remarkably relevant.

The play, whose “brain is preserved in alcohol,” is full of satire, wit and a kind-hearted look at our national weaknesses. Its new staging brings a contemporary interpretation that preserves the spirit of the original while making it accessible to today’s audiences. The main roles will be performed by Juraj Kemka and Lukáš Latinák, who approach the legendary text with their own temperament, humour and theatrical playfulness.
The production is directed by Jakub Nvota. The musical accompaniment was prepared by Kamil Mikulčík, while the visual side of the performance is shaped by the set design of Pavol Andraško and costumes by Katarína Hollá. The result is a modern staging of a theatrical classic that will delight long-time admirers of the legendary duo as well as audiences discovering their humour for the first time.
Presenting the play at Pohoda will also serve as a reminder of the work of Milan Lasica and Július Satinský – two personalities who profoundly shaped Slovak culture. Milan Lasica appeared at Pohoda several times, and his performances remain among the festival moments that audiences still recall with great fondness.
Our Friend René will thus bring intelligent humour to Trenčín Airport – humour that can look at our own weaknesses with perspective and remind us that laughter is often the best way to deal with them.

Over three days (Thursday to Saturday), Pohoda 2026 will feature performances by Gorillaz, The Prodigy, Lykke Li, Denzel Curry, IDLES, Oliver Tree, Apashe & Brass Orchestra, Action Bronson, SHERELLE A/V Show, Kristie Kardio, and many more. For the first time in Pohoda’s history, there will also be a standalone Extra Day, featuring The Cure, The Twilight Sad, Just Mustard, and Denis Bango.
For Wednesday – The Cure Extra Day, it is possible to purchase a single-day ticket or combine the experience with the full festival by buying a 4-day pass, which is currently the most cost-effective way to enjoy Pohoda in its entirety. Pohoda Festival will take place on July 8 & July 9–11, 2026, at Trenčín Airport.
