Kesaj Tchave to Bring Joy, Energy and the Power of Music to Pohoda 2026

One of Europe’s most remarkable Roma music and dance ensembles is coming to Pohoda 2026. For more than two decades, Kesaj Tchave have shown how music, dance and collective creativity can change lives and break down barriers. At Trenčín Airport, they will deliver a performance full of energy, emotion and infectious joy that wins over audiences regardless of age or background.

06. June 2026

Founded in 2000 in the town of Kežmarok, Kesaj Tchave works with children and young people from Roma communities in the Spiš region of Slovakia. Under the leadership of Ivan and Helena Akimov, what began as a local community project has grown into an internationally respected ensemble. Over the years, they have performed more than a thousand concerts, completed over a hundred international tours and appeared on prestigious stages across Europe, including the legendary Olympia in Paris.

Kesaj Tchave blend traditional Roma music and dance with the vibrant energy of a new generation of performers. Their shows are spontaneous, authentic and full of life. More than a concert or dance performance, they offer a celebration of community, talent and the joy of sharing music together. As French circus director Alexandre Romanès once wrote, “After watching them, you feel as if you’ve fallen in love and never want to leave them.”

The ensemble’s success is also rooted in its long-term educational and social work. Kesaj Tchave creates opportunities for young people to develop their talents, build confidence and discover new possibilities. Music and dance serve as a universal language and a bridge between communities.

We are delighted to welcome Kesaj Tchave to the 30th edition of Pohoda. Their performance will bring exactly what Pohoda stands for – openness, togetherness, joy and the power of culture to connect people.
