Gorillaz and IDLES have released new song. Will they perform it on stage together?
Gorillaz and IDLES will perform at Pohoda in a few months, but we can already listen to their new song "The God of Lying," which they released this week. And since both bands will be performing at the Trenčín airport on the same day – Thursday, July 9, 2026 – we believe they will also meet on one stage.

Gorillaz's new album, The Mountain, will be released on March 30, 2026, but they have already released their third single, "“The God of Lying“, which they recorded with the band IDLES. The new song was created under the leadership of Damon Albarn (Gorillaz) and Joe Talbot (IDLES). It was recorded in several locations around the world – from London to Devon to Mumbai – and combines the best of both musical worlds: the groove, melody, and eclectic sound of Gorillaz with the raw energy and punk attitude of IDLES.
The upcoming album The Mountain will be Gorillaz's ninth studio album. In addition to IDLES, other guests from around the world will also appear on the album, which will be multilingual, combining English with Arabic, Hindi, Spanish, and Yoruba. According to critics, this is Gorillaz's most ambitious project in recent years, in which the band returns to its roots – but in an even bolder and more modern form.
Both bands will perform at Pohoda on the same day – Thursday, July 9, 2026, and we believe that this new material will be performed on one stage by both bands. Their joint festival performance would certainly be one of the highlights of the 30th edition of the Pohoda festival.
Gorillaz and IDLES,j SOFT PLAY, Baxter Dury, Gleb, and the band Para will also perform at Pohoda.
