Edúv Syn Brings Dark Trap and a Therapeutic Confession to Pohoda

Pohoda 2026 will welcome a distinctive voice of the emerging Slovak rap generation – Edúv Syn. The project of Slovak visual artist and musician Matej Myslovič stands out at the intersection of trap, punk aesthetics, and engaged poetry.

03. March 2026

Edúv Syn is often described as “the saddest rapper.” Red eyes, hard beats, and an uncompromising inventory of everything that didn’t fit into ordinary life. His music is a raw testimony of someone unafraid to speak about depression, anxiety, existential crises, or suicidal thoughts—without posturing and without cheap pathos. In his work, individual mental health is never isolated; it is always closely connected to the state of society. Here, music functions as therapy—both personal and collective.

Although his roots lie in the punk and hardcore scene, his full artistic potential emerged through dark trap beats. Independence from genre rules and a refusal to follow trends allow him to carve his own path—between darkness and hope. This is not “xanax” emo-rap, but an intense, authentic statement capable of blending fragility with anger and melancholy with sharp social critique.

His discography includes several notable projects, including his debut Karel Gott je mŕtvy keď hralo rádio, created in collaboration with Fvck_Kvlt, as well as later releases such as 2, projekt 2023, Trap je nový punk!, and Mám červené oči lebo stále plačem. He has worked with artists including Arleta, Dušan Vlk, Klara Wodehn, Hellwana, and Berlin Manson. He also draws inspiration from projects like WWW Neurobeat, which demonstrate that hip-hop can exist beyond mainstream boundaries.

In his lyrics, Edúv Syn takes a clear stance against consumerism, homophobia, and social aggression. His live shows are known for their intensity and authenticity—performances where discomfort transforms into catharsis and darkness shines with hope.

At Pohoda 2026, expect a therapeutic session through the microphone. Rap that hurts—but heals.
