“Soňa Ferienčíková, Rázusová & Zweig & The Tears of Janko Borodáč, Stoka with Blaho Uhlár’s final premiere, PiNKBUS—Slovak and like no other, the tender masculinity of Lonesome Cowboy, the sharp humour of Silné reči, and students of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava asking whether freedom must have limits, and whether girls should stay quiet and wear skirts. A theatre programme that is Slovak, rich, and uncensored. IHOPEIWILL see it all,” Alžbeta Vrzgula, director and dramaturge of Pohoda’s theatre programme.

COMPLETE THEATRE PROGRAM AT POHODA 2025
FRIDAY
Tomáš Janypka: Lonesome Cowboy
09:00 – 10:00
AKTUALITY.SK
Every person is a lonesome cowboy, reflecting the landscape that surrounds them—mountains, cities, the world of thoughts, images, ideals, icons, and human behaviour. What could and should a cowboy of today be? What should an ideal cowboy in the form of a human, Tomáš Janypka, be like?
Slzy Janka Borodáča: Outcast
09:00 – 10:00
EURÓPA STAGE
Uncompromising battles of thought expressed through physical poetry. The play Outcast, by the theatre collective Slzy Janka Borodáča, is based on Stefan Zweig’s memoir The World of Yesterday, in which Zweig portrays the image of old Europe and raises the crucial topic of pacifism, an issue still faced by today’s Europeans.

09:00 – 10:00
OPTIMISTAN NADÁCIE ORANGE
IHOPEIWILL explores our shared future amidst ongoing political tensions and escalating climate challenges. It conveys a sense of expectation and hope despite the prevailing global atmosphere of fear and great uncertainty.
Chlast
11:15 – 12:45
EURÓPA STAGE
There’s a theory that we walk through life with a deficit of happiness. Maybe all we need is to top it up just a little. Just 0.5‰... This humorous and brutally honest Nordic tragicomedy explores loss and the search for joy amidst the greyness of everyday life. On a wave of entertainment and reflection, we will be carried by excellent actors — men in the prime of their lives — Marián Miezga, Ady Hajdu, Braňo Deák, and Róbert Jakab. Experience an intense experiment that begins as an innocent game and ends with lasting consequences.
Divadlo Stoka: Škovránok
21:30 – 22:30
OPTIMISTAN NADÁCIE ORANGE
The play Škovránok (Skylark) offers a contemporary reflection on human relationships through cynically realistic dialogues. A distinct visual design enhances the atmosphere where the themes of death and breakups unfold. The production also touches on political and art-related topics, yet its deeper symbolism opens space for reflection on one's life and society. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the theatre’s future, the play delivers an authentic view of current issues and values.
SATURDAY
PiNKBUS: Slovenský a žiadny iný (Slovak and No Other)
09:00 – 10:00
AKTUALITY.SK
PiNKBUS is an artistic platform that has been dedicated to queer and drag art and its representation for 5 years. Last year, the subtitle “PiNKBUS – Slovak and No Other” emerged as a spontaneous experiment and immediately became a phenomenon. The strong reaction from both the general public and the cultural community pushed them to deepen this concept and work with it more and in greater depth. The building elements of the entire concept are music and humour, which are seen as a unifying creative force that can bring at least some understanding into a divided society. Folklore and modern music represent two opposing camps, and PiNKBUS aims to establish a dialogue between them again.
Divadlo Lab: Škovránok
09:00 – 10:00
OPTIMISTAN NADÁCIE ORANGE
How can an individual push the boundaries of society today? Is our era missing its own Joan of Arc? Students in the third year of the Bachelor's degree at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (VŠMU) will explore this question in their performance of Škovránok.
Divadlo dNO: HRANICA / GRANICA
21:30 – 22:30
EURÓPA STAGE
Their production HRANICA / GRANICA unfolds against the backdrop of a forgotten historical event from 1920 – the division of the Orava region between Poland and Czechoslovakia.
