The Prodigy as the Saturday night headliner of the 30th edition of Pohoda

The lineup for the 30th edition of Pohoda is gaining a cult name that has written the history of rave and electronic music: The Prodigy. After their unforgettable performances at Pohoda in 2005 and 2016, their return has a symbolic meaning for us – their 2005 concert is perhaps the most memorable one of the festival’s first decade. Later, we invited them as the main gift to celebrate the 20th edition, and now they’re returning for another jubilee, where their show will close the program on the main stage. They will perform their greatest hits, such as Breathe, Firestarter, Smack My Bitch Up, Woodoo People, and Out of Space, as well as new songs expected to be released next year.

I'M GOING TO POHODA 2026

The band founded by Liam Howlett in 1990 ranks among the most influential acts in British electronic music. Together with Keith Flint and MC Maxim Reality, they shaped a sound that influenced entire generations. Their most iconic albums include The Fat of the Land (1997), Music for the Jilted Generation (1994), Invaders Must Die (2009), and No Tourists (2018). Their legendary status is further confirmed by numerous prestigious music awards that they have received, including Brit Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards, and MTV Video Music Awards.

The loss of Keith Flint in 2019 was a heavy blow for the band: Flint was not only one of their voices, he was also the band’s visual icon. The band handles this loss with dignity and deep respect for Keith. They did not replace him with anyone else; at every concert, they perform the legendary track Firestarter as a tribute to him, and above all, they continue the wild ride with incredible energy. You can expect an even more powerful sound, pulsing bass, and extreme visual experiences – their shows feature intense lighting, laser effects, and visual projections that perfectly complement the raw force of the music. The combination of loud electronics, chaos, and light effects creates an almost ritual-like experience.

“Bringing The Prodigy to the 30th edition of Pohoda has been my dream and later my plan for many years. For me, in the world of music, they represent a shift comparable perhaps only to The Beatles – they completely turned the music scene upside down at the end of the millennium. They took rave from the underground to the top of the charts without straying from their uncompromising path. After two experiences with them at Pohoda, I know that they are also fantastic people. I genuinely longed to celebrate our anniversary with them. I am grateful to their agents Solomon and Suzie, as well as John, their manager and tour manager in one, for making this possible. We met this summer at their concert in Fuengirola, Spain, where I saw the shape the band is currently in. I have to say I witnessed a concert one does not forget, a bulldozer of perfect music and massive sound, enormous excitement both onstage and in the audience, all accompanied by truly creative visuals. All of this showed that The Prodigy are unique and that we need to bring them back here again. The band plays excellently – with Liam and Maxim in the front line, steering the perfectly tuned machine of live musicians who support the fierce electronics. Liam is a genius in songwriting and sound design, and Maxim is a leader who captivates everyone from the very beginning of the show and never lets you go. The audience included all generations; I was there with my eighteen-year-old son who enjoyed the concert just as much as I did – only unlike him, I didn’t go to the mosh pit right up front… :) This is a very personal booking, yet I’m convinced it will make many people happy. I truly believe I can confidently say that we all have something to look forward to. The Prodigy in their current form are absolutely fantastic – current, powerful, and continually unique,” says Michal Kaščák about this booking, in the longest quote in Pohoda’s history.

This year, The Prodigy closed the Glastonbury festival, and they will do the same at Pohoda 2026. One of the most sought-after and most powerful live bands on the electronic scene will fire up the crowd and get them dancing on Saturday 11 July 2026 at midnight on the Zlatý Bažant stage, with a longer and more intense set that will be one of the highlights of the festival.

Artists at the 30th edition of the Pohoda festival will include Gorillaz, IDLES, Baxter Dury, SOFT PLAY, Native James, Para, Gleb, Turtle Island, Annie & The Caldwells, Emma-Jean Thackray, and many others. For the first time, we are introducing an Extra Day to the three regular festival days. On this Extra Day, Wednesday, 8 July 2026, the legendary The Cure will appear, along with Scotland’s The Twilight Sad, Ireland’s Just Mustard, and Denis Bango, who will play songs from his project Fvck_Kvlt and the band Wilderness on piano right before The Cure’s show. The Extra Day will also include a night afterparty directly on the Trenčín airport grounds. This gives you the option to purchase a 4-day pass (festival + The Cure), a 3-day pass (Thursday to Saturday), a standalone Wednesday ticket, or to upgrade your 3-day pass with the Extra Day.
