Talkshow at Pohoda 2018

Band TALKSHOW who are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their formation this year will be playing Pohoda 2018 as well. Band’s front man Andreas Imrich is also the Production Manager at our festival. While making sure that everything goes smoothly at the biggest bands’ concerts, he manages to catch the attention of foreign journalists with his own music and show. He achieved this in 2016 at Garage, for example, when gentlemen from Virtual Festivals saw them play. Talkshow are the only local indie band that played SXSW showcase in the US and you could hear their single “Hurricane” on Austrian radio FM4. Right now, their first single in Slovak, “More času”, is in rotation and they will play it live for the first time at our festival.

Talkshow formed in 2008. Their members are from Horná Nitra region (Bojnice, Prievidza, Nováky) and Bratislava. As a DIY band, they don’t have any management or label, but still made it to the Austrian FM4 radio that used to play their single “Hurricane” for quite a long time. They are the only local indie band that played SXSW showcase in the US. Besides Slovakia and the Czech Republic, they also toured in Austria, Poland or Germany. Of all things, they enjoy playing live the most. That’s why, this year, they have decided to submit applications for a chance to play at all well-known showcases (which might serve as an inspiration for other Slovak bands and artists as the next Waves Vienna and Eurosonic editions will focus on bands from Slovakia and the Czech Republic).
