He definitely broke through with his autobiographical album Veteran (2018), which was also praised by people like Rick Rubin and James Blake. The album got into Pitchfork's selection of the best albums of the decade, as well as to the best records of the year selections by Spin, NME or The 405. All My Heroes Are Cornballs, his latest record, is even more personal. According to NME, he switches between masks and jumps from one genre to another, which makes him the perfect artist for the present time. In addition to NME, he also made it to the year-end selections of Loud and Quiet, Paste and PopMatters. Barrington DeVaughn Hendricks will present the contemporary avant-garde hip-hop mixed with a great cocktail of many other genres in Trenčín in July 2020.
