Fink at Pohoda 2017

Singer-songwriter and producer Fink will be playing Pohoda 2018. One of the biggest names of electronic music record label Ninja Tune is best known, paradoxically, for his emotive acoustic songs. He was brought to this type of music via collaboration with artists such as Amy Winehouse or John Legend. His latest album, Resurgam, was recorded with producer Flood (PJ Harvey, U2, Foals, Warpaint).

In the 1990s, Fin Greenall started out as a DJ and producer of electronic music on Ninja Tune label. In 2003 and 2004, he collaborated with Amy Winehouse (for example, he co-wrote the song “Half Time” with her) and slowly began to turn to songwriting. Later, he started working with bass player Guy Whittaker and drummer Tim Thornton and together they released a debut Biscuits for Breakfast. Intrigued by the album, Zero 7 invited Fink to support them on their tour.

Master of collaborations

On the second album, Distance and Time, Fink collaborated with producer Andy Barlow of Lamb. He also collaborated with John Legend on tracks for his album Evolver. The song “Green Light” won Greenall a BMI Award. John Legend reciprocated by collaborating on songs for Fink’s album Sort of Revolution. They also collaborated on the soundtrack album to 12 Years a Slave. Fink also appeared on Bonobo’s album Days to Come. In 2010, he started a collaboration with rapper Professor Green on Green’s album Alive Till I’m Dead.

Fink then released two albums in quick succession: Sort of Revolution and Perfect Darkness. The latter is described by The Guardian as follows: “delight... achieves such loveliness you don't want it to end”. In April 2012, Fink performed with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of the Netherlands and an amazing live album entitled Fink Meets The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra was released. In 2014, they released album Hard Believer and, in September 2017, Resurgam came out, whose title means I’ll come back to life. Fink are coming back to Slovakia where Slovakian fans will get a chance to see and hear them at the beginning of July. At Trenčín Airport.
