Breakout act of the British music scene, Fat Dog, at Pohoda 2026
“Screaming-into-a-pillow music.” That’s how frontman Joe Love describes the sound of the London six-piece Fat Dog. At Pohoda, they will bring songs from their debut album WOOF, which delivers a gripping mix of electro-punk, feral rock ’n’ roll, techno, industrial pop, and rave euphoria.
18. December 2025
Fat Dog formed in 2020 in southeast London during the COVID lockdowns. The band consists of vocalist Joe Love, Chris Hughes, Morgan Wallace, and drummer Johnny “Doghead” Hutch. Even before releasing their first singles, they became known for their chaotic and intense live performances, the likes of which the London scene hadn’t seen in a long time. Music magazine NME even named them “the wildest live band of 2023.”
In 2023, the band signed with Domino Recording Company and performed alongside acts such as Viagra Boys and Yard Act. On their debut tour, they even sold out the legendary London venue Scala. Their first single, “King of the Slugs,” was released in August 2023 and stood out with its seven-minute blend of punk and techno. This was followed by appearances at major festivals across Europe and the United States, including South by Southwest.
Drummer Johnny Hutch, nicknamed “Doghead,” is known for performing on stage in a latex dog mask, which has helped him, as a person on the autism spectrum, cope with the anxiety associated with performing in public.
Their debut album WOOF was released in September 2024, cementing Fat Dog’s position as one of the boldest and most energetic bands on the contemporary British scene. At Pohoda 2026, you can expect tracks from this album, new material, and—above all—their insane live performance.
The 30th edition of Pohoda will feature performances by Gorillaz, The Prodigy, Lykke Li, IDLES, Baxter Dury, SOFT PLAY, Native James, Para, Gleb, Turtle Island, Annie & The Caldwells, Emma-Jean Thackray, and many more. For the first time this year, Pohoda will also include an Extra Day on Wednesday, 8th July 2026, with legendary The Cure, Scottish band The Twilight Sad, Ireland’s Just Mustard, and Denis Bango performing. Bango will perform songs from his project Fvck_Kvlt and the band Wilderness on the piano, just before The Cure’s performance. The Extra Day will also feature a late-night afterparty at Trenčín Airport. You can purchase a 4-day ticket (festival + The Cure), a 3-day ticket (Thursday to Saturday), or extend your 3-day ticket with the Extra Day. Find all the details and tickets here.
