Iconic British band Morcheeba have shaped the sound of the island's trip-hop and downtempo music scene. Their 1998 album Big Calm is a must-listen and one of those legendary recordings that still sounds futuristic today.
Lead singer Skye Edwards' velvety voice is one of the most distinctive and instantly recognisable voices. Formed in 1995, Morcheeba mixes trip-hop and downtempo with pop and folk.
Their biggest hits Rome Wasn't Built in a Day, The Sea, Part of the Process, Trigger Hippie and many others are now classics all over the world.
At Pohoda you could see Skye with her solo work and we are very happy that this time at Pohoda 2024 she will perform with the work of the excellent Morcheeba. Concerts with this line-up are an unforgettable experience.
"Morcheeba is absolutely one of my favourite bands; their music is like a delightful musical embrace. I've had the pleasure of catching their live performances several times, most recently in Margate, England, this September. It was truly one of the most impressive shows I've ever witnessed; they are in exceptional form. Every aspect of that concert was simply stunning: the incredible music, the fantastic connection with the audience, a flawlessly curated set, Skye's velvety voice, and the entire band playing with evident joy. It felt like everything in the universe was in perfect harmony. I can't wait to experience that same beauty again, this time at Trenčín Airport in the summer," shares Michal Kaščák, Pohoda CEO.
