The Krtko Bain project will also perform at the 30th edition of Pohoda, taking the stage at the Garage. They are the third band selected for this stage’s lineup by curator Ľubo Šoška.
Krtko Bain builds its music on atmospheric guitar lines tinged with dissonance. Chaos, distorted sound, screeching distortion, and noise are underpinned by a repetitive rhythm section that creates a hypnotic foundation for the entire sound. A counterpoint to this raw energy is provided by synth and string parts, which give the songs a broader sonic space.
The band experiments with their approach to expression as well as to the actual playing of their instruments. Their lyrics hover on the edge of poetry, anger, and nihilistic despair. With a subtle dose of irony, they reflect on personal experiences as well as the problems of contemporary society. Krtko Bain thus uncompromisingly lays bare emotional wounds and invites listeners to introspection.
The Garage Stage has been an integral part of Pohoda for years—a place where we give space to young and emerging names on the Slovak music scene. This year’s program for this stage was curated by Denis Bango and Ľubo Šoška.
