Every person is a lonesome cowboy, reflecting the landscape that surrounds them—mountains, cities, the world of thoughts, images, ideals, icons, and human behaviour. What could and should a cowboy of today be? What should an ideal cowboy in the form of a human, Tomáš Janypka, be like?

We find ourselves on the threshold of a fractured era, where we can stop looking for clues on the map, heroism in footprints, and role models or memories of the past in the desert. We can draw our own individual maps, where no hierarchy governs our stories, and where gentleness, uncertainty, and doubt are valued just as much as determination, strength, and courage. What could and should a cowboy of today be? What would an ideal cowboy look like in the form of a human—Tomáš Janypka?

A site-specific performance co-produced by Tanec Praha z.ú. and Ponec – divadlo pre tanec. The show features live music by Brno-based musician Tomáš Vtípil. The piece was selected for the Malé Inventúry 2024 showcase and was part of the pre-selection by the jury of the Czech Dance Platform in 2024.
