This weekend, the European Capital of Culture opens in Trenčín, and for us, it is an event with a very personal dimension

Festival Pohoda and Trenčín have belonged together for 29 years. Trenčín Airport is the place where, every summer, a temporary city of music, art, discussions, and encounters comes to life. That is why we are especially happy that Trenčín becomes the European Capital of Culture this year and receives the attention it has long deserved.

We are proud to be a partner of the European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026 project and to take part in the Sounds of Democracy initiative, which connects music, public space, and the values of an open society. Themes that have long been close to Pohoda thus naturally become part of the EHMK programme.

We believe this year will be important not only for Trenčín, but for Slovak culture and the arts as a whole. The European Capital of Culture is an opportunity to show how strong, diverse, and vibrant Slovakia’s cultural scene truly is. And we are glad to be part of it.
