The Office of Contemporary Art

What should contemporary art be like and what does the term mean? Should art be pretty or critical? What is the role of artists and art today? Together with the studio IN, we will look for answers to these questions also at Bažant Pohoda, and we will use INʼs Office of Contemporary Art. During two days, nine artists will appear here at regular intervals, and they will chat about contemporary visual art with visitors to the “Office”.

At night, a series of videos created at the Department will be screened. The Office is executed following the initial design by András Cséfalvay (Department of Intermedia and Multimedia — DIM). Present artists: Peter Barényi (PhD student at DIM, studio IN), András Cséfalvay (PhD student at DIM), Anton Čierny (Head of the studio APK+), Eja Devečková (PhD student at DIM, studio IN), Daniel Dida (graduate of the studio IN), Ilona Németh (Head of the studio IN), Martin Piaček (Department of Sculpture, Object, and Installation, assistant teacher at studio IN in academic year 2014/2015), Eleonóra Stanková (graduate of the studio Transpraxis), and Zuzana Žabková (graduate of the studio IN).
