Stroon: Preludes and Songs

With four EPs and a few tracks on different compilations, dozens of cooperations (PPE, Cluster Ensemble, Sunrise Hangar, Longital) and some (non)silent movies scores in his portfolio, Stroon is one of the most prolific and versatile musicians around Slovakia. This time he is coming with his project Preludes and Songs.

The nickname Stroon hides Dalibor Kocian, originating from Košice, who just likes music and deals with it in different forms. We could therefore see him play guitar in metal bands, his own electronic music, DJ sets, and recently also as a vibraphonist and a member of the band Pudding Pani Elvisovej. His main instrument is vibraphone, which he, of course, uses also in his electronic production.

The show “Preludes and Songs” presents Stroon's latest works. The first part comprises of several preludes from his latest album Solar Preludes, nominated in two categories at Radio_Head Awards (electronic and experimental music). The second part of the performance consists of an original composition; contemplation for electronics, ensemble and soprano – Songs of Concealed Amplitude.
