Stephen Budd at Pohoda 2019

Pohoda 2019 will also host the music events organizer, commentator and DJ Stephen Budd. He is one of the people behind Damon Albarn's Africa Express project and also stands behind festivals around the world. He is also part of charity projects Give a Home (Amnesty International and Sofar Sound) and Passport: Back To The Bars (War Child).

Musically, his domain is African music – he managed the renewed band Songhoy Blues and worked with artists such as Fatoumata Diawara or Seun Kuti. His passion for music from this continent gradually helped him to get his hands on a huge collection of original vinyls from the 1970s full of music masterpieces from Ghana, Nigeria, Congo and other countries. Last year he played at the Worldwide Festival of Gilles Peterson, Bratislava World Music Festival, DMZ Peace Train Festival and in London National Theatre. Stephen Budd will bring the music spirits of African seventies to Trenčín in a month.
