Pohoda Achieves Tremendous Success With Four Nominations at the Prestigious European Festival Awards

We’re over the moon – Pohoda Festival has received four nominations for the prestigious European Festival Awards. Along with Hungary’s Sziget and Norway’s Øyafestivalen, we have the highest number of nominations among all European festivals. One of these is particularly special, as it was decided by public voting. It’s you guys, the fans of Pohoda, who supported us in the shortlist for the Best Medium-Sized Festival category. Thank you for every vote and your trust.

The other three nominations are in categories decided by expert juries. We are especially grateful that our work has been recognised by professionals from across Europe.

“We're thrilled. Once again, we have four nominations at the prestigious European Festival Awards. Thanks to everyone who helped us reach the broader selection of the best medium-sized festivals with their votes. We really appreciate the nomination for the 'Slovenské srdce' (Slovak Heart) event series in the 'Take a Stand' category, and we're delighted with the nomination for our young colleague Kristína Mlynárová in 'The New Kid on the Block' category. We were also pleasantly surprised to find ourselves for the first time in the 'Promoter of the Year' category. We're proud that Pohoda has such a strong reputation among European festival experts. This alone is an award for our entire festival team, as well as for the people who come to Pohoda and create its unique atmosphere. We believe this visibility is beneficial for Slovakia as a whole in the current climate. Keep your fingers crossed for us in January,” says Michal Kaščák, the festival's director, on the four nominations.

This year, festivals from more than 30 countries participated in the awards, with the public casting around 300,000 votes. Being nominated in such a competitive field is a great honour for us. The winners will be announced and the awards presented on 14th January in Groningen, the Netherlands.
