PiNKBUS: Slovak and No Other at Pohoda 2025
PiNKBUS is an artistic platform that has been dedicated to queer and drag art and its representation for 5 years. Last year, the subtitle “PiNKBUS – Slovak and No Other” emerged as a spontaneous experiment and immediately became a phenomenon.

The strong reaction from both the general public and the cultural community pushed them to deepen this concept and work with it more and in greater depth. The building elements of the entire concept are music and humour, which are seen as a unifying creative force that can bring at least some understanding into a divided society. Folklore and modern music represent two opposing camps, and PiNKBUS aims to establish a dialogue between them again.
PiNKBUS sends greetings to the forests and mountains, straight from the soul! We, too, belong to the Slovak culture. Whether MADAM likes it or not.
It’s time for a “veselica” (traditional celebration), because Slovak culture is Slovak—and no other! At a time when traditional values, countryside, and folklore are being promoted on one side, and queer people and city people on the other, the nation is seeking a point of intersection, a way to understand both sides. And there’s nothing better than music to make that happen.
From the Tatras to the Danube, through “Páslo dievča pávy” (a folk song) to Eugen Suchoň and Marika Gombitová.
