Over Hills and Valleys with the Karol Pádivý Art School at Pohoda 2025
From New Zealand all the way to the American continent. At Pohoda, you’ll travel over hills and valleys with the united children’s choirs of the Karol Pádivý Art School: OSMINKY and VOICEANA.
22. June 2025
The Karol Pádivý Art School is home to two children’s choirs under the shared direction of teacher Ľudmila Čahojová. The first, OSMINKY, was founded in 2022 at the school’s branch in Svinná. Since autumn 2024, its younger singing sibling VOICEANA has been growing steadily in Trenčín. Because they share most of the repertoire, the two choirs collaborate and perform together as the United Choirs of the Karol Pádivý Art School.
Their repertoire is diverse, containing Afro songs, traditional tunes and songs in English, folk songs in Slovak, a piece from The Sound of Music with an original Slovak translation, and even an originally instrumental piece by W. Amadeus Mozart.
The common thread across all the songs is a strong rhythm, movement, and energy. And since their origins span the globe—from New Zealand to the American continent—they aptly titled the program Over Hills and Valleys.
