Oto Hudec – The Flag of the Blue Planet
The flag is based on the 1969 proposal by J. McConnell designed to celebrate the Earth Day. It has a round hole in the place where the Earth image should be. The sky that can be seen in the cutout resembles the Earth observed from the space. Instead of the unchanging picture, the flag is always different depending on the weather, reminding us of the fragility of the natural systems, which we, as mandkind, have disturbed.
