John B at Pohoda 2019

Pohoda 2019 will also feature the drum'n'bass DJ, producer and co-owner of several labels John B. This British musician is known for his eccentric and sharp sound, hairstyle and wardrobe. DJ Mag put him twice in the list of the 100 most influential DJs (ranking highest from among all the drum'n'bass producers). Fans describe his work as trance and bass due to distinctive female vocals and characteristic trance synths he uses. As a sought-after beatmaker, he collaborated with Nicki Minaj on her single "Here I Am", for example. The author of the hits "Up All Night", "Midnight Air" or "Mr. Freud” will make the Trenčín Airport dance in little over a month.

John B is also a well-known selector that connects classic sets with the most futuristic ones. He is no stranger to electro, latino, punk, techno or jungle. His wide range is also confirmed by John's extremely popular podcasts, with individual shows at johnbpodcast.com having usually over 100,000 downloads (and often score on Mixcloude and iTunes).

His Light Speed album from 2012 was the album of the month at Mixmag, and DJ Mag described him as "a suitably bananas soundtrack to the maddest weekend ever”. The Drum & Bass Carnival album from 2014 represents his brighter and hot-blooded side, and is heavily influenced by latino. Drum & Bass 2014: Summer Sessions is another crucial record, which represents the best from his record label Beta. A more visionary approach to sound can be heard in his next album with quite a telling name, Visions, from 2015. In the same year he released the remix "Up All Night" and a very dark track "The Colossus" through Metalheadz label. The year 2015 also brought the expected follow-up of the mix “Trance & Bass” and a new single "Damages".

John B gained favour of everyone around – from Mixmag's winning mix Trance & Bass through timeless classics from Metalheadz label such as "Up All Night". As the head of Beta Recordings and Nu-Electro, he stood at the beginning of many artists' careers (Logistics, Commix, Xilent, High Rankin, Gemini, Receptor, Dexcell, Gmorozov, Virtue, Vice City ...). He’s also known for great remixes of artists such as Howard Jones, Pendulum, Bloc Party or Michael Cassette.
