Jazz Punk by Finnish Band Oulun_Keskusta at Pohoda 2025

A Finnish trio Oulun_Keskusta from the town of Oulu, featuring baritone saxophone, tenor saxophone and drums, blends punk and jazz into their own experimental style, which they call PÄTS. Combined with lousy jokes and wild performances, they promise an unforgettable show at Pohoda.

The trio consists of Elmeri Karjalainen (baritone saxophone), Nestori Määttänen (tenor saxophone), and Oula Lipponen (drums). They perform original tracks as well as their own takes on other artists’ songs, even reimagining classical pieces in their own style. The band has so far released two EPs, the latest of which is titled Pihlajakatu.

Oulun_Keskusta will perform thanks to the collaboration between Oulu 2026 and Trenčín 2026. The partnership between these two towns, which will jointly hold the title of European Capital of Culture next year, brings new sounds, new stories, and new opportunities for cultural exchange to the festival.
