FB EVENT
The aim of the event is to help people who have lost their homes, to raise awareness, and to draw society’s attention to the real problems faced by people experiencing homelessness, for whom winter is a critical period. The event Doma dobre also supports the “Adopt a Bed” initiative, organized by Depaul Slovakia.
At the event one of the most popular Slovak bands, Hex, will perform, along with the legend of the domestic underground and alternative scene, Bez ladu a skladu, and the Trenčín brass band Lucerka. The last two groups will also play a few songs together.
In addition to the concerts, there will also be a program for the little ones – a marionette Christmas comedy The Golden Pig by the Morgonrock Puppet Theatre, and a children’s corner will be available as well. You will also be able to see the photo exhibition I Don’t Have a Home, but I Live, and there will be a workshop on making zero-waste fire starters as well as a knitting workshop. The program will also include a discussion titled Go Get a Job! (guests: Lukáš Kulísek – Head of the Employment Program at Depaul Slovakia, Soňa Pobiecka – social worker in the Employment Program at Depaul Slovakia, and Mr. Peter – a client of Depaul Slovakia).
The goal of the event is to assist those who have lost their homes, raise awareness, and shed light on the real challenges faced by homeless people, especially during the difficult winter months. Doma dobre event also supports the “Adoptuj posteľ” (Adopt a Bed) initiative, backed by Depaul Slovakia.

“Adopt a Bed”
Depaul Slovakia's facilities cater to over two thousand people in need every year. They provide them with warm meals, clothing, social counseling, a secure bed, and most importantly, support and acceptance from Depaul staff. However, winter poses significant financial challenges for the Depaul organisation. By making a symbolic 'Adopt a Bed' donation on a regular basis, supporters can help Depaul to be there for those who seek help. For more info about this campaign, visit www.adoptujsipostel.sk.
Why do the homeless deserve our help?
The homeless are just like us. Many have lost a job, a loved one or are suffering from a serious illness. Depaul Slovakia is a non-profit organisation that strives to help all those who are left on the streets. Because the street is not and cannot be a home for anyone.
How to get to Doma dobre?
The premises can be reached by car or taxi directly to the address Ivanská cesta 32, Bratislava. If you prefer public transport, take the bus no. 61 heading to the airport and disembark at the Pri letisku and from there you will be guided to Depaul on foot by navigation boards.
This project is financially supported by City of Bratislava Foundation.
