Fontaines D.C. nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize

Irish band Fontaines D.C. is among the biggest favorites of this year's music season. Their latest album Romance has received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics and fans alike, with many considering it one of the best albums of the year. It is therefore no surprise that the band has received a prestigious nomination for the Mercury Prize, an award that regularly highlights the best of the British and Irish music scene.

The Slovak audience had the opportunity to experience Fontaines D.C. live just recently – during this year's Pohoda festival. Their concert was one of the highlights of the program, and thousands of visitors at the Trenčín airport enjoyed their energetic and sincere music to the fullest.

Among the fans at Pohoda were not only those who had known the band for a long time and came specifically to see them, but also many people who discovered them at the festival. It is this combination that testifies to the power and versatility of their work – Fontaines D.C. can appeal to both devoted post-punk fans and complete newcomers who are encountering their music for the first time.
