Drum & Bass and Jungle Queen Nia Archives at Pohoda 2025
British producer, songwriter, singer, and DJ Nia Archives has emerged as one of the finest from the breakbeat scene in recent years. Her work follows in the footsteps of artists like Roni Size, Shy FX, and DJ Die, but brings a completely fresh approach. She’s coming to Pohoda following the success of her debut Silence Is Loud, which was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize.

In her few years on the scene, she's garnered numerous nominations and wins at prestigious awards shows. She won the NME BandLab Award for Best Producer and Best Electronic/Dance Act at the MOBO Awards, BBC Introducing made her the Artist of the Year, she secured the Breakthrough Producer at the DJ Mag Awards, and came third in the BBC Sound of 2023. Most recently, Silence Is Loud landed her a spot among the eleven shortlisted albums for the 2024 Mercury Prize. Both critics and music media agree that this is an artist to keep an eye on.
Her first EP, Headz Gone West (2021) was met with a lot of positive acclaim, but it was her second EP, Forbidden Feelingz (2022) that truly cemented her status as the queen of modern jungle and drum & bass.
Nia is also a great remixer, as shown by her remix of Fred again's "leavemealone" or the song "Off Wiv Ya Headz," an edit of Yeah Yeah Yeahs' "Heads Will Roll." In March 2023, she dropped her third EP, Sunrise Bang Ur Head Against Tha Wall, describing it as “six tracks with six different moods soundtracking the recent chapter in my life.”
In April last year, she released her debut album Silence Is Loud, which was instantly met with positive feedback—as proven by its nomination for the prestigious Mercury Prize.
And if you catch her live performances, you will notice she thoroughly enjoys them together with her audience. You can experience drum & bass, a blend of electronica and Britpop, but above all punk in a dance space—as Nia herself likes to describe jungle—on Friday night at Pohoda 2025, delivered by one of the brightest stars of the UK jungle scene.
