DJ Vec

Branči Kováč, aka Vec, will appear at the twentieth Pohoda, this time at mixing console. His domain is not just the microphone, and he made it clear already in 2001, when he made it to the DMC World Finals in London as a DJ. Vecʼs DJ set will be the last Saturday's show in the SLSP arena.

Vec is one of the most prominent figures of Slovak hip-hop; he grew over the boundaries of this genre, as his concerts are looked forward to also by those who generally do not enjoy hip hop music. In 1997, he issued an album in collaboration with Midi, and it is this album that is nowadays considered hip-hop classic. He won his audience because what is superior in his music and lyrics is not the ego but ideas and opinions, all of that with a dose of distant perspective. His latest mix of purely Slovak material, Slovset mix, shows how funny work with songs across genres can be. You will see the concluding piece of the main set at Pohoda 2016 in already 36 days.
