Vojdi

Vojdi  SK

Math rock, progressive rock, indie, shoegaze, industrial, heaps of experimental instrumental elements, and a good dose of self-irony. A trio that definitely isn’t afraid of making noise. At Pohoda 2025, Vojdi will take the stage together with their regular saxophonist, Martin Debřička.

The music of the Prešov-based trio Vojdi is characterised by intricate compositions, frequent shifts in motifs, and unconventional rhythms. Their light-hearted approach to music brings to mind local legends Chiki Liki Tu-a, but sonically, they are mainly influenced by the French new wave of eclectic bands such as Aquaserge and Moodoid.

Their debut album Kompost was released last June and, in their own words, explores a range of themes through a very specific sonic lens. The band is currently preparing to record their next album, which will also feature the Prague-based saxophonist Martin Debřička. He enjoys exploring various approaches to music, sound, and composition, and has recently been focusing mainly on experimental and improvised music.

“An absolutely top-class musical performance, wit, excellent cohesion, natural showmanship, and hundreds of ecstatic fans in a sold-out hall leave no doubt that Vojdi are starting to outgrow small club venues.” This is how Zuzana Valešová from Full Moon magazine summed up the future of the band Vojdi. We couldn’t agree more, and that’s exactly why they’ll be taking the stage at Pohoda 2025.
