What best defines Trenčín? The castle overlooking the city, the River Váh, or the famous folk song Trenčín dolinečka? In the year when Trenčín holds the title of European Capital of Culture, the answer is clear – culture.

The combined choirs of the Karol Pádivý Elementary School of the Arts took part in the Opening Ceremony of Trenčín 2026 – European Capital of Culture, where the folk song Trenčín dolinečka became the central motif of their performance. It also lends its name to the programme they will present at Pohoda. Alongside Slovak folk songs, the choir will perform music from other countries and cultures, while celebrating the song that generations of children in Trenčín have grown up with.

Led by Ľudmila Čahojová, the young singers bring energy, movement, and joy to the stage. Their performance for audiences of all ages combines music with a story full of playful dramatic twists. Join them for a warm and engaging musical experience.
