SJU ^SK

SJU is a fresh name on the Slovak music scene, with a repertoire full of playful and danceable electronic music, colourful visuals, costumes and projections. Her music has already reached audiences in London, Berlin, and New York. This summer, she’s bringing it to Trenčín at Pohoda.

Until recently, she was known as the drummer of the band ORA THE MOLECULE. These days, she’s creating between Prague and London, and has already taken her solo project to Berlin, London and New York. Her single “RHYTHM IN YOUR POSE” was released by KITSUNÉ Musique and featured in the reboot of Gossip Girl. She regularly appears on the BBC Radio 6 Music, and the Norwegian label Snorchel Records released a special vinyl of hers over the summer.

Her brilliant debut album MIND THEATRE came out in April last year, with SJU playing more than 40 shows with it. Her second studio album ANIMERA was released just this March, and we’re happy that she’ll be presenting it at Pohoda 2025.

SJU also runs her own fashion brand, BYSJU, creating hats for artists such as Will.I.Am, The Black Eyed Peas, Slowdive, Jungle and Gorillaz.

SJU was selected by the jury of the Garáž 2024 competition, which we organised together with ECoC Trenčín 2026. After her August performance on our smallest stage, which moved to the city centre after Pohoda, Renat Khallo wrote this on hudba.sk: "Sweet, playful, even tender electronics by SJU went hand in hand with her stage presence, and the concert felt like a form of fitness where you shake off every last bit of negative energy."
