KK Bagala’s Literary Circus: Kopcsay, Kostelanski, Kolbas. And maybe even The Magician.

Last year, we were amazed by a circus act starring Dedoluško and Kajomluško—both trained by Márius Kopcsay himself. This time, Koloman Kertész Bagala brings a discussion about their freely unfree lives, as well as fresh news from the big top and the caravan.

The extensive multigenerational novel Dedo Lužko by Márius Kopcsay recently earned a well-deserved nomination in the final top ten of the Anasoft Litera competition, which evaluates all Slovak prose works from the previous year. Besides him, Koloman Kertész Bagala will also be talking with Václav Kostelanski, who, after three collections of short stories, is now coming out with the novella Sekať dobrotu. In it—much like Kopcsay—he presents an outsider character who is constantly confronted with their own failures. Something new is also happening with Karlos Kolbas. Whether it will be as raw as before or not, we’ll find out alongside Danglár’s live painting. Since we’re in a circus, there might even be another special performance.
