When the front man Karel Šůcha introduced the audience to his new band at a club in Most in 1986, no one knew what a success they would become in Czech rock scene. Dark glasses, white shirts and elegance emitting from behind the instruments. The clear signs of Laura a její tygři band that haven’t changed much since seventeen years ago: the last time they played Pohoda.
Name Laura is supposed to evoke tenderness and beauty that is currently impersonated by a young and temperament vocalist Lucie Bakešová. But there were several important names who had this role at the beginning of their successful careers, one of the examples would be Ilona Csáková. The contrasting element are wild tigers led by the legendary bass player, Karel Šůcha, or guitarist Bohumil Vitásek in the past. The show full of energy is a mix of rock, jazz and funky rhythms that brought the band a huge success on stages in Europe as well as around the globe. During their career, they released 12 albums. However, to see them live is a much more intense experience that we are in for again as part of Pohoda 97 project at the 21st edition of our festival.
