Hájenka SK

At Pohoda Festival, the children of the Hájenka Children's Folklore Ensemble will present a unique adaptation of an old play about Don Šajn, performed by travelling puppeteers in the former Czechoslovakia, inspired by the play of the Anderle puppeteer family. You will also get to see the dance Koza zdochla (The Goat Died) – a great tragedy from Kozárovce about the suffering, death and rebirth of a goat; or a humorous story Pytačky z Gombáša (Wooing from Gombáš), which is about a story of two people who love each other. The ensemble's musicians will also be featured in a special performance of Z dolnej Oravy (From the Southern Orava).

The Hájenka Children's Folklore Ensemble was founded in 1988 in Bratislava's Petržalka district, where it still performs at the Tupolevova 20 Elementary School. Hájenka is composed of 150 children between the ages of 6 and 16. Most of them come from Petržalka. The 35-year-old Hájenka has taken part in most festivals in Slovakia, performed in many European countries as well as in Taiwan, and has spent Christmas in Australia twice.
