Punk rock legends Slobodná Európa to perform at Pohoda 2026

One of the most influential bands in the history of Slovak punk rock will perform at Pohoda Festival 2026. The legendary band Slobodná Európa will bring their unmistakable sound to Trenčín Airport.

16. April 2026

The band was formed in Bratislava at the end of 1989, during the period of political and social changes following the fall of communism. The band’s origins date back to around 1987–1988, when singer Whisky and guitarist Sveťo Korbeľ would regularly meet up for a beer or simply wander the streets of Bratislava. It was the combination of Whisky’s ironic, often provocative lyrics with Sveťo Korbeľ’s music that created the band’s unmistakable style.

Their debut album Pakáreň became one of the most iconic records of Slovak punk. It was followed by Unavení a zničení and later releases including Trojka and Štvorka. Over more than three decades the band has experienced both highs and difficult periods, including a hiatus in the mid-1990s before returning to the stage in the 2000s.

Despite lineup changes and the loss of some key members, Slobodná Európa remains one of the flagship acts of Czech-Slovak rock’n’roll. Their concerts are still known for their raw energy, humour and uncompromising punk spirit.

At Pohoda 2026 they will perform in the following lineup:

Miloslav "Whisky" Láber – vocals
Sveťo Korbeľ – guitar
Tomáš Vojtek – drums
Peter Bálik – guitar
Rastislav Gore – bass

Expect a powerful set of songs that have shaped generations of fans of the Slovak alternative scene. Slobodná Európa will undoubtedly bring a strong dose of punk energy to Pohoda.
