Demand the Impossible: a generational theatre statement on freedom and identity at Pohoda 2026
Divadlo Petra Mankoveckého will bring its original production Demand the Impossible to Pohoda 2026. Created collectively together with students of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (VŠMU), the production moves between physical theatre and performance, offering a generational reflection on freedom, identity and the expectations society places on us.
17. March 2026
What does it actually mean to “demand the impossible”? Can the world change through collective effort? Is a shared goal enough? Or does each of us demand something entirely different? Through humour, movement, music and pop-cultural references, the creators touch on themes such as feminism, identity, social stereotypes and the search for stability in a polarised world. The result is a vibrant, urban and energetic theatrical form that builds on improvisation and an intense connection with the audience.

Divadlo Petra Mankoveckého is one of Slovakia’s notable independent theatre companies. Since its founding in 2015, it has produced several acclaimed works and regularly addresses current social themes through its productions.
With Demand the Impossible, Pohoda audiences can look forward to theatre that is not afraid to ask difficult questions – even those without easy answers.
