Also your votes in the poll of the American portal Everfest brought us the wonderful 3rd place, all of that among hundreds of newly nominated festivals. And it is thanks to your votes that we will be part of their updated database of the best festivals in the world. 30 new festivals will be awarded in Las Vegas at the XLIVE/Everfest Awards, part of the XLIVE Conference, on the 12 December. Thank you! :) → read more
Since November 1st, Pohoda team has become a bit bigger. Our Production Team has a new member, Gretka Pavlovová. Grétka has been organizing an amazing Festival Atmosféra (by the way, you can nominate it in the last section of EFA poll) in her home village of Hontianske Nemce for seven years. She also won our favor at Pohoda where she did a great job during her premiere working as a stage manager. A young Belgian, Suzanne Verschueren, helps us with international communication as well as other tasks. “Zuzka” worked for us as an intern and we often could not keep pace with her and give her assignments. While taking care of email communication with journalists from aboard, she completed a fork-lift operation training and also photo-documented preparation works at the airport. We believe that with their help, Pohoda will be even more chill and fun. Ladies, welcome :) → read more
A jury comprising music industry experts have listed Pohoda 2017’s lineup in Europe’s Top 10. Taking the fact that this is the second time in a row that we have received this nomination into account, our happiness is even bigger. We are competing with much bigger and richer festivals – Glastonbury, Roskilde, Lollapalooza Berlin, Rock Werchter, NOS Alive, Melt!, Lowlands, OpenAir St. Gallen and Sziget. “It’s something exceptional; we’ve appeared in the company of the most prestigious events. Putting a lineup together for an independent festival in a country of Slovakia’s kind, with its sponsoring limits and with our ticket prices, is an interesting artistic discipline… We choose a more difficult way and want to remain an interesting alternative festival – colleagues from abroad noticing our effort and appreciating it to such an extent that they add us to the elite club, is something that makes me even prouder. This exceptionally positive and motivating piece of news comes at the right time, when the selection of artists for the next edition is in full swing,” says Michal Kaščák as a reaction to this great achievement. → read more
This yearʼs Koncert pre všímavých (translated as the Concert for the Attentive) in the KC Dunaj club will be ruled by one of the best Czech hip-hop formations Prago Union, that will perform with the new live band, and the Croatian band ABOP, which plays electronic music in the rock setting. Panáčik will bring together performance, music, video, and theatre; we will see also the Gypsy Band Lomnické Čháve, that was probably the most energetic show at the NAY dance house at this yearʼs Pohoda, and DJ Džbán will take care of the afterparty. The event will also feature the Michal Kaščákʼs debate with the figures of November 1989 Ladislav Snopko and Fedor Gál. This yearʼs edition will turn into a small multi-genre festival, as besides music and the debate, the event will also include a great literary programme called Walden alebo život na Brízgalkách (Walden or life in Brízgalky). Publishing house BRaK will introduce two books: H. D. Thoreau: Walden or Life in the Woods and Augustín Dobrovodský: Kurič v letnom kine (translated as Stoker in the Summer cinema). The debaters will be Alexander Balogh, Laco Teren, Robert Roth, Alexander Dobrovodský, and Tomáš Hučko. Before the Concert for the Attentive, the P. O. Hviezdoslav City Theatre will hold the Day of the White Crows, which, besides handing over awards for civic bravery, will include narratives about courage, crossing borders, community, musical performances, theatre performance, films, workshops, and debates with new white crows. → read more

Led by its art director, violinist, and violist Miloš Valent, the ensemble Solamente Naturali presents the music of 17th and 18th century. At Pohoda 2017, they performed live songs from their album Keď sa páni zišli – Dance collection from Uhrovec 1730 (samples from the famous collection of folk songs from Uhrovec, known as Saltus Hungarici and Dionisio from 1730). See how the performers and the audience enjoyed the dance music almost three centuries old. → read more
